Nebushasban
Nebushasban was a chief Babylonian chamberlain under Nebuchadnezzar. He was among the officers sent to release Jeremiah after Jerusalem was captured.
Definition
Nebushasban was a high officer of Nebuchadnezzar’s court. He held the title Rab-saris, meaning chief chamberlain or chief of the eunuchs, and was among the officers sent to Jerusalem at its capture.

Nebushasban was sent with other Babylonian officers to release Jeremiah from prison after Jerusalem fell.
Historical Background
His name is explained as “Nebo saves me.” His office and title were the same as those of Ashpenaz, whom he may have succeeded.

Adorer of Nebo, or Nebo saves me, the “Rabsaris,” or chief chamberlain, of the court of Babylon. He was one of those whom the king sent to release Jeremiah from prison in Jerusalem (Jer. 39:13).

(Nebo saves me), one of the officers of Nebuchadnezzar at the time of the capture of Jerusalem. He was Rab-saris, i.e. a chief of the eunuchs. (Jeremiah 39:13) Nebushasban’s office and title were the same as those of Ashpenaz, (Daniel 1:3) whom he probably succeeded.
