ABED-NEGO
The Babylonian name given to Azariah, one of Daniel’s three companions. He refused to worship Nebuchadnezzar’s image and was delivered from the fiery furnace.
Biblical Usage
Abed-nego refused the king’s food and later refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s image. He was cast into the fiery furnace with his companions and was delivered, after which he prospered in Babylon.
