Agar is a form of Hagar, the mother of Ishmael, and may also refer to the Hagarenes, a people east of Gilead.
Biblical Usage
In the Greek Apocrypha, Agar probably refers to Hagar, the mother of Ishmael. The Hagarites are mentioned as a people who fought the tribe of Reuben in the days of Saul.
