Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great was the Macedonian conqueror whose empire succeeded the Persian kingdom described in Daniel. After his death, his empire was divided among four generals.

He is probably represented in Daniel by the belly of brass, the leopard, and the he-goat. These images point to his powerful and rapid conquests and to the division of his empire.
