Anna was an aged widow and prophetess from the tribe of Asher who worshiped and fasted in the temple. She recognized the infant Jesus and spoke about Him to those awaiting Jerusalem’s redemption.
Biblical Usage
Anna was present when Jesus was presented in the temple and when Simeon praised God. Recognizing the significance of the child, she spoke about Him to those awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.
