Apocrypha

Scripture • Inter-testament
The Apocrypha is a collection of ancient religious writings associated chiefly with the Greek and Latin Old Testament but not included in the Hebrew and Protestant canon. These books belong largely to the period between the Testaments and are distinguished from inspired Scripture in the supplied tradition.
Biblical Usage
In the supplied traditional Protestant framing, these books are not parts of the inspired Word. They are not quoted by New Testament writers, and the ordinary Jewish canon is identified with the Protestant Old Testament.
