ARBELA
Arbela was a place in Galilee associated with caves used for refuge and defense. It was visited or fortified by several leaders, including Bacchides, Herod, and Josephus, though the exact route in 1 Maccabees is uncertain.
Biblical Usage
First Maccabees describes Bacchides pitching his tents before Masaloth in Arbela and taking the place. Josephus describes the capture of people who had fled into caves there.
