Arvad was a Phoenician island city off the coast of Syria. Its inhabitants supplied sailors and soldiers for Tyre and were known as Arvadites.
Biblical Usage
Arvad is named among the peoples connected with Canaan and is remembered in Ezekiel’s description of Tyre’s maritime strength, where its men supplied sailors and soldiers.
