ASIA MINOR
Places & Geography • New Testament
Asia Minor is the peninsula between the Black Sea, Mediterranean, and Aegean seas, corresponding broadly to Anatolia. In New Testament times it contained important regions and cities through which Paul and other missionaries spread the gospel.
Biblical Usage
Although the name Asia Minor was not used in biblical times, the region was a major setting for New Testament history and for the apostle to the Gentiles. Its cities and roads were important channels through which Christianity spread.
