Assurance
Biblical assurance is confident trust in God’s promises through faith. Believers may receive assurance of God’s truth, hope of eternal glory, and acceptance through Christ, though this confidence may be strengthened or temporarily shaken.
Biblical Usage
Scripture speaks of the full assurance of faith, understanding, and hope. Believers are urged to seek it, and it rests on God’s promises, the inward evidence of Christian grace, and the testimony of the Spirit of adoption. Christian assurance is grounded not in self-confidence or human works but in Christ’s high-priesthood, atoning sacrifice, and the trustworthiness of God’s revelation.
