The tower of Babel was the great tower built by the people of Shinar in an attempt to establish their unity and fame. God judged their pride by confusing their language and scattering them.
Biblical Usage
Genesis presents the tower as part of humanity’s attempt to establish a united name and prevent scattering. God confused the people’s language, and the building was not completed. The name Babel is associated with confusion.
