CENDEBAEUS
Cendebaeus was a general appointed by Antiochus VII as commander of the Palestinian seacoast. He fortified Kedron and was defeated by Judas and John, the sons of Simon Maccabeus.
Biblical Usage
When Simon Maccabeus was too old to attack him personally, Simon sent his sons Judas and John. They defeated Cendebaeus with heavy losses at Modin.
