Chamberlain

A chamberlain was a royal attendant or household official. In the New Testament the term can mean a king’s personal servant or a city treasurer.
Biblical Usage
Blastus was Herod’s chamberlain, or chief attendant over the king’s bed-chamber. Erastus was the chamberlain or treasurer of the city. Old Testament chamberlains served royal households and harems.
