COMPASSION
Compassion is tender pity and a willingness to act mercifully toward those who suffer. It is a prominent attribute of God, displayed supremely in Jesus Christ, and a required quality of those who belong to Him.
Biblical Usage
Compassion is a fundamental biblical description of God and was central to Israel’s faith. Jesus displayed it toward the distressed and taught that it must extend beyond friends to all, including enemies. His followers are repeatedly urged to cultivate it.
