Concupiscence
Concupiscence means an inward desire or longing, especially an inordinate desire for what God forbids. In the New Testament it commonly refers to coveting or sinful lust, though desire itself is not always sinful.
Biblical Usage
The term is used for coveting, evil desire, and the lustful passion associated with indwelling sin. It is not limited to sexual desire but includes every movement of heart and will toward what God forbids. The same root can also describe intense desire without sinful meaning.
