Courses
Temple & Tabernacle • Old Testament
The courses were the organized divisions of priests, Levites, singers, and gatekeepers assigned to serve in the temple. David arranged these groups, and later kings and leaders restored the system.
Biblical Usage
David organized the priestly and musical services with Zadok and Ahimelech. He divided the priests into twenty-four courses and arranged the Levites and temple workers into corresponding divisions for worship, music, gatekeeping, and administration.
