Crete
Crete was a large Mediterranean island visited by Paul and associated with the ministry of Titus. Cretans were present at Pentecost, and Paul left Titus there to appoint elders in the churches.
Biblical Usage
Cretans were present in Jerusalem at Pentecost. Paul’s voyage to Rome brought him along the island’s southern coast, including Fair Havens, and Paul later left Titus in Crete to appoint elders in the churches. Paul also quotes a Cretan poet concerning the character attributed to the Cretans.
