Engraver
An engraver was a skilled artisan who carved names or designs on metal, stone, rings, seals, and other objects. Engraving was especially used for the stones and plate of the high priest’s garments.
Biblical Usage
Engraving is especially associated with the high priest’s garments. The onyx stones, the twelve jewels, and the plate of the mitre bore inscriptions.
