Ezra
Ezra was a priest and skilled scribe in the law of Moses who led a group of Jewish exiles back to Jerusalem. He taught the law, promoted religious reform, and helped restore the community’s covenant life after the Babylonian exile.
Biblical Usage
Ezra prepared his heart to seek, do, and teach the law of the Lord. He led confession and reform concerning foreign marriages, read and explained the law at the Feast of Tabernacles, and helped lead the people in renewing their covenant with God.
