Forest
A forest is a wooded area, thicket, or enclosed plantation. Biblical forests included wooded regions in Gilead, Lebanon, Judah, and elsewhere, and they could symbolize both shelter and unfruitfulness or judgment.
Biblical Usage
Forests and woods appear as places of hiding, travel, battle, and death. They are associated with Hareth, Ephraim, Lebanon, Bethel, Gilead, and other regions. Figuratively, a forest can represent unfruitfulness, desolation, or a great army destined to be cut down.
