Fowler
A fowler was a professional birdcatcher who used nets, traps, snares, and other methods to capture birds for food, sacrifice, or other uses. The snare of the fowler illustrates the hidden plans of the wicked and God’s deliverance from them.
Biblical Usage
The snare of the fowler represents hidden plans intended to ruin or entrap people. Scripture uses escape from a broken snare as an image of deliverance, while wicked men and hostile circumstances are compared with fowlers lying in wait.
