Gibeah
Gibeah was a hill town of Benjamin and the home of Saul. It was the scene of a grievous crime in the period of the judges and later served as Saul’s royal residence.
Biblical Usage
The outrage at Gibeah led to Israel’s war against Benjamin and nearly destroyed the tribe. Saul returned there after becoming king and summoned Israel from the city. Gibeah is also called Gibeah of God in a marginal rendering.
