God
God is the one true, eternal, almighty, and sovereign Creator and Lord. Scripture reveals Him by names such as God, Lord, and Jehovah, and teaches His holiness, righteousness, mercy, wisdom, and covenant faithfulness.
Biblical Usage
The Bible assumes God’s existence and calls people to know, worship, obey, and rightly relate to Him. It uses names such as Elohim, El, and Jehovah, and reveals His attributes, unity, rule, righteousness, holiness, compassion, and love. In the New Testament He is revealed as Father, and the divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit is affirmed.
