Goliath
Goliath was a giant of Gath who challenged Israel’s army for forty days before David killed him with a sling and stone. Another warrior named Goliath is mentioned as being killed by Elhanan.
Biblical Usage
The first Goliath defied Israel for forty days before David struck him with a slingstone and cut off his head. David’s victory brought him into public prominence. The second Goliath was killed in another battle by Elhanan.
