Hilkiah
Hilkiah was the name of several Old Testament men, including the high priest under Josiah. That Hilkiah discovered the Book of the Law during temple repairs, helping bring about a major reform in Judah.
Biblical Usage
The best-known Hilkiah was high priest during Josiah’s reign. While the temple was being repaired, he discovered the Book of the Law, showed it to Shaphan, and helped initiate the reform that followed. Other men named Hilkiah appear in genealogies and official records.
