Hope

Doctrine & Theology • Both
Hope is confident expectation of God’s promised good. In Scripture it is joined with faith and love, centered in God and Christ, and looks especially toward salvation, resurrection, eternal life, and the coming kingdom.
Biblical Usage
Old Testament hope is centered in God, from whom deliverance and blessing are expected, especially the coming kingdom of righteousness. New Testament hope rests on God’s promises, Christ’s resurrection, His return, the believer’s salvation, and the inheritance reserved in heaven. It produces steadfastness while full attainment remains future.
