HOUSEHOLDER
A householder is the master or owner of a household. In Jesus’ parables the term emphasizes the authority of the person directing the household and its servants.
Biblical Usage
The word occurs in Jesus’ parables in Matthew 13:27, 52; 20:1; and 21:33. In each setting it refers to the master or owner of a household and emphasizes his authority over the servants.
