Humility

Christian Life • Both
Humility is a lowly and teachable disposition before God and others. It rejects self-exaltation, recognizes dependence upon God, and follows Christ’s example while differing from false or pretended humility.
Biblical Usage
Humility is an essential characteristic of true piety. God accepts those who humble themselves, and Christ is its supreme example. Scripture connects humility with patience, peace, truth, love, service, and eventual exaltation, while warning against false humility.
