Husband
A husband was the male head of a household and marriage. Scripture also uses marriage imagery to describe God’s covenant relationship with Israel and Christ’s relationship with His church.
Biblical Usage
Scripture exempts a newly married man from war for one year. The husband also provides imagery for the covenant relation between the Lord and Israel and for the relation between Christ and His church.
