Inheritance
Law & Covenant • Both
Inheritance is property or a portion received from another. In the Old Testament it especially includes Israel’s God-given land, while the New Testament applies the term spiritually to the promised portion received through Christ.
Biblical Usage
Israel’s land is treated as God’s possession, entrusted to the tribes and families. The New Testament uses inheritance language for the possession, heirship, and heritage associated with God’s people and their salvation.
