The Kenites were a nomadic people connected with Midian and Jethro. They showed kindness to Israel, lived in various areas near Judah and the Amalekites, and included the Rechabite family.
Biblical Usage
The Kenites were spared by Saul because they had shown kindness to Israel during the journey from Egypt. Jethro was connected with them, Heber was a Kenite in the time of Sisera, and the Rechabites belonged to the Kenite family.
