Mustard
Mustard was a small-seeded plant that could grow into a large garden herb. Jesus used its tiny seed as a picture of the growth of God’s kingdom and of faith that begins small but has great effect.
Biblical Usage
Jesus used the mustard seed as an image of something very small that produces a remarkably large result. He also compared the growth of God’s kingdom and the exercise of faith to the mustard seed.
