Myrtle
The myrtle is a fragrant evergreen shrub native to Palestine. It was used among the branches for the Feast of Tabernacles and appears in prophecy as a picture of God’s blessing replacing barrenness and thorns.
Biblical Usage
Myrtle was one of the trees used at the Feast of Tabernacles. Isaiah uses it in a prophetic picture of blessing replacing the thorn and brier, and Zechariah’s vision places myrtles among the trees of the land.
