Naomi
Naomi was the wife of Elimelech and mother-in-law of Ruth. After losing her husband and sons in Moab, she returned to Bethlehem with Ruth and later rejoiced in Ruth’s marriage to Boaz.
Biblical Usage
Naomi’s account in Ruth presents her movement from grief and bitterness toward renewed family joy. She urged Ruth to return to Bethlehem with her and later rejoiced when Ruth married Boaz.
