Naphtali
Naphtali was Jacob’s fifth son, born to Bilhah. His name was given in connection with Rachel’s struggle, and it became the name of one of Israel’s tribes whose territory lay in northern Canaan.
Biblical Usage
Naphtali became one of Israel’s tribes and was represented among the wilderness census, the spies, and the division of Canaan. The tribe’s territory included places associated with Jesus’ ministry, including Capernaum, Bethsaida, and Chorazin.
