Nazareth
Nazareth was the Galilean town where Joseph and Mary lived and where Jesus grew up. Jesus began teaching there, but many townspeople rejected Him, and He became known as Jesus of Nazareth.
Biblical Usage
The angel announced the Messiah’s birth at Nazareth, and Jesus was known as Jesus of Nazareth. He preached there, but his hearers rejected him and attempted to throw him from a precipice. Because of their unbelief he did not perform many mighty works there and later made his home in Capernaum.
