NEBO, MOUNT
Mount Nebo was a mountain in Moab from which Moses viewed the Promised Land before his death. It is identified with the top of Pisgah and lay east of Jericho, though details of its exact location have been debated.
Biblical Usage
At God’s command Moses ascended Nebo to see the Land of Promise, which he was not permitted to enter. He died there and was buried in the valley of Moab, over against Beth-peor.
