Nebuchadnezzar, Or Nebuchadrezzar
Nebuchadnezzar, or Nebuchadrezzar, was the great Babylonian king who conquered Jerusalem, exiled Judah, and ruled a vast empire. His pride was judged by God, as recorded in Daniel.
Biblical Usage
The biblical record presents him as the ruler who brought Jerusalem under Babylonian control, destroyed the city after Zedekiah’s rebellion, and deported the people. In Daniel, his pride and vanity were punished by a period of madness in which he lived as a beast.
