Needle
A needle was a common household sewing instrument. Jesus used the expression “a needle’s eye” to illustrate the human impossibility of entering God’s kingdom while trusting in riches.
Biblical Usage
Jesus used the proverb that it is easier for a camel to pass through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. The saying illustrates the absurdity of expecting salvation while remaining bound to and trusting in riches.
