Nergal-sharezer
Nergal-sharezer was a high-ranking Babylonian officer, called Rab-mag, who was involved in releasing Jeremiah after Jerusalem fell. He is commonly identified with the Babylonian king Neriglissar.
Biblical Usage
Nergal-sharezer appears among the Babylonian princes in the account of Jerusalem’s fall. As Rab-mag, he was sent to release Jeremiah from prison.
