Nimrod
Nimshi was the grandfather of Jehu, who is commonly called “son of Nimshi” in the biblical accounts of his rise as king of Israel.
Biblical Usage
Nimrod is presented as the first mighty ruler in the earth and as a mighty hunter before the Lord. The “land of Nimrod” is used as a designation for Assyria or Shinar.
