Noph
Nopha was a place mentioned in an ancient victory song concerning the Amorite conquest of Moab. It was probably near Heshbon, but its location is uncertain.
Biblical Usage
Noph appears in prophetic passages concerning Egypt. The name is also rendered Moph in Hosea and is identified with the Greek and Latin form Memphis.
