Peter
Peter, originally called Simon, was one of Jesus’ twelve apostles and a leading witness of the resurrection. A fisherman from Galilee, he preached at Pentecost, helped establish the early church, and was called Cephas, meaning Peter or rock.
Biblical Usage
Peter followed Jesus, confessed Him as the Messiah, witnessed His resurrection, and was restored after denying Him. He preached at Pentecost, led the apostles in the early church, and became a prominent witness to the gospel.
