PLEAD
Government & Society • Both
To plead is to present a case, contend, or seek justice in a legal sense. When God pleads with people, the expression means that He brings His case and judgment against them, not that He begs them.
Biblical Usage
Scripture speaks of pleading a cause, presenting arguments, contending, maintaining the right, or entering into judgment. When God pleads with people, He states His case and acts judicially; He is not portrayed as supplicating them.
