Raphael
Raphael means “God has healed.” In Jewish and inter-testamental tradition he is an angel associated with healing and with presenting prayers before God.
Biblical Usage
Raphael is not presented as a character in the canonical biblical books cited here. In Tobit he guides Tobias, heals Tobit’s blindness, and delivers Sarah from Asmodaeus. He declares himself one of the seven holy angels who present the prayers of the saints before God.
