REAPING
Reaping is gathering grain by pulling or cutting it, binding the stalks, and carrying them to the threshing floor. Scripture also uses harvest imagery to describe the consequences of righteousness and sin and God’s final judgment.
Biblical Usage
Hebrew laws regulated reaping and required consideration for the poor and for sacred seasons. Reaping also illustrates consequences: people reap what they sow, may reap joy after tears, or may face judgment and punishment. The final harvest is pictured in Revelation.
