RECEIVER
A receiver was a person who weighed tribute or payment. The term in Isaiah 33:18 is more accurately understood as a tribute-weigher than as a modern legal receiver.
Biblical Usage
The term occurs in the King James Version of Isaiah 33:18. The Revised Version replaces it with the clearer description of a tribute-weigher.
