ROLL (SCROLL)
Scripture • Both
A roll or scroll was the usual book form in biblical times, made by writing on material wound around a rod. Scripture uses scrolls for written law, prophecy, records, and symbolic heavenly documents.
Biblical Usage
Scrolls are used for written works, archives, prophetic messages, and symbolic heavenly records. Isaiah and Revelation use the image of the heavens being rolled together, and Scripture speaks of books such as the Book of Life.
