Salamis
Salamis was a prominent city on the eastern coast of Cyprus. Paul and Barnabas preached there in Jewish synagogues during their first missionary journey.
Biblical Usage
On their first missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas preached the word in the synagogues of Salamis. The plural reference indicates a substantial Jewish community. They then continued through the island toward Paphos.
