Salvation
Salvation means deliverance from danger, evil, death, and sin. In its fullest biblical sense, it is God’s saving work, accomplished through Jesus Christ and received by faith.
Biblical Usage
In the Old Testament, salvation includes Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, enemies, exile, danger, death, and divine wrath. In the New Testament it centers on forgiveness, redemption, and the saving work accomplished through Jesus Christ.
